Happily Haunted

Experience the magic of not-so-spooky family fun at Bookworm Gardens during Happily Haunted! Stroll through the Gardens, glowing with over 100,000 twinkling lights and enchanting structures, and enjoy seasonal delights around every corner. Dinner fare, munchies, and festive beverages will be available for purchase. All children will leave with a treat bag, so keep your trick-or-treat buckets at home! Event entry includes:

  • Access to 83 unique gardens spaces decorated with thousands of twinkly lights and structures

  • View creatively decorated pumpkins in the Pumpkin Walk on the stage in the Secret Garden

  • Enjoy Halloween themed storytime in the Magic Tree House

  • Participate in the not-so-spooky scavenger hunt

  • Warm up by the toasty bonfire in the Farmyard

  • Light concessions for purchase including themed beverages and s’mores kits

  • Festive treat bags will be given to every child at the conclusion of your visit

Costumes are welcome, but not required.

BOOKWORM MEMBER BENEFITS

Bookworm Members get the opportunity to explore the Gardens the first full weekend (October 10, 11, and 12) of Happily Haunted with no charge for members and those in their immediate family. Want to become a member? Click here. Reciprocal and library garden membership is not applicable during events.

  • Bookworm Members: $10

  • Non-Members: $15

  • 2 years old and younger: no charge

Event admission is non-refundable and non-transferrable. Reciprocal and Library Garden membership admission is not honored during our events. The Gardens are open rain or shine. In the case of unsafe or severe weather conditions, visit our website and follow us on social media for updates.

PUMPKIN WALK

Calling all creators! Create a book or nature-inspired pumpkin for thousands of visitors to see at the Happily Haunted Pumpkin Walk. Carve it, paint it, embellish it! Young, young at heart, groups, classrooms...anyone is welcome to participate!

Drop off your completed pumpkin at Bookworm Gardens October 5-8, 9am-3pm. Then, come to Happily Haunted Gardens to see all the amazing pumpkin creations on display! Pumpkins will be composted at the end of the event unless specifically requested for pickup at drop off.
